ISRAEL

I'm preparing this evening to leave again... (seems like endless travel right now) for ISRAEL. For those of you who didn't hear, I was awarded a scholarship from Indiana Wesleyan University to go on a 10-day tour of the Holy Land led by one of our Old Testament Professors - Dr. Wilbur Williams.

Not sure exactly what our itinerary will be - it seems to be changing quite regularly, but I promise to give a full update and details as soon as I can (hopefully with some sweet photo's)! Here's what I have currently... it may change.

Day 1 - Depart North America
Day 2 - Connect via Milan, Italy before arriving in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Day 3 - Depart for Galilee - visiting Caesarea, Mt. Carmel, Megiddo, Nazareth, Cana and Tiberias with the potential of witnessing a baptism in the Jordan River...
Day 4 - Watching the sunrise on the Sea of Galilee before a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee in a wooden replica of the "Jesus Boat". We will visit many biblical sites along the Sea of Galilee and in the Upper Jordan Valley including Capernaum, Mount of Beatitudes, Caesarea Philippi, Magdala, view Mt. Hermon etc.
Day 5 - We head to Jerusalem via Mt. Tabor, Ein Harod, Beth Shan, and Jericho.
Day 6 - Today we begin to investigate Jerusalem - Mt. of Olives, The Church of the Ascension, Gethsemane, the Western Wall (Wailing Wall) of Herod's temple, Dome of the Rock, Pools of Bethesda, follow the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the ancient Cardo.
Day 7 - We will leave Jerusalem to visit the Dead Sea and the wilderness of Judah. Visiting Qumran, Ein Gedi, Masada and the wilderness mountain where King Herod built a fortress before returning to Jerusalem.
Day 8 - Free Day in Jerusalem...
Day 9 - Today we visit Mt. Zion, The Upper Room, the Israel Museum (where the Dead Sea Scrolls are displayed) before finishing the day off at the Garden Tomb with an optional communion service.
Day 10 - Depart Tel Aviv, Israel - Arrive USA.

Well - I hope that's helpful... like I said, I'll try to update you completely once I return. Until then, I'll sign off! OUT!
