Merry Christmas!!!

We hope everyone has a fabulous holiday with friends and family... We are happy to be with my parents, Julie, and Josh & Kari this year, and very sad not to be with Clint's family and Mike & Joni! We will miss you! Here's some Christmas cheer from Evee (thanks Mom for the early Christmas present snowsuit for Evee)...

Separation anxiety...

Well, as every parent and maybe people in general know, there comes a point where your little one becomes a bit more clingy than usual. For the most part, we haven't fully gotten into this. Sure, if Evee is tired or hungry she will put her arms out to me...and, in general, I'm with her the most so some "anxiety" would make sense.

Anyway, for a couple of days now when I take a shower and set her on the floor in the bathroom or just outside it with the door open, she will cry a bit. I just talk to her, hurry up, and get out. This morning, though, was like a light switch for her emotions. See the pics for the play by play and a little admission down below :)...

Just playing, hanging out while I get ready to take a shower.

Waters on. Checking in...Little concerned, but it'll be ok.

I step into the shower and shut the curtain...it was instant (tears and all).
Need I say more?

Done with the shower, water is off, and I've peeked my head out to say hello.

I'm out, we're all good...unbelievable :).

*So, the thing was that this all happened just as I described... I mean, instant tears and then instant smile. But, of course, I didn't go into the shower thinking this is how it would be. It was so crazy, that I actually reenacted the scene. The pics from after the shower were "in real time" because I quickly grabbed the camera. But, for the full cry one, I actually shut the bathroom door part way (after I was already out of the shower), turned the shower on (with the curtain closed), and she started to cry straight away thinking I was in the shower. I opened the door, quick took a picture of her screaming, and picked her up... mean mom, I know! I just had to have something to describe it (with more than just words)!

Jeff & Sharee

Clint's brother (Jeff) & our sister-in-law (Sharee) were here for almost 2 weeks. We had a great time with them and it was fun watching them get to know Evee. They left last week. We had fun with them...

At my parent's house for a traditional Thanksgiving (which we haven't had for years, but thought we'd do since Jeff & Sharee were here and don't usually celebrate it). My dad's parents are on the right. Julie was there, but taking the picture :).

Evee was dedicated the second Sunday that they were here, so it was nice to have them and Julie there for it (represent both families :)).

Bath time!

Evee LOVES the bath - as I'm sure most kids do once they are out of the newborn stage. Anyway, I took some pics today because my mom might use one as a picture in their bathroom. I thought I would share them on here as well. It was hard to get pics with water going everywhere, but I managed to get some good ones :).

Here's Evee with a couple of friends - little Ben Christner (4 1/2 months) and Luke Whitely (almost 3 years old).
Evee in the grass. Sadly this was just last week. Right now you can not see grass and there is only white snow when I look out the window. It was really cold outside last week, but I was trying to get some pictures for something. Anyway, she loved being outside even though it was freezing...didn't seem to bother her at all!

Random Shots

I'm realizing that this is a basically just a blog with tons of pics of Evee...but for the many people in our lives that are far away I guess that is a good thing! So, here are some of the latest. I just need to take more pictures of us because the pics help me to post.

Julie was going for a run with Evee and it was a bit chilly outside, but maybe not this cold! She had like 4 layers on!

My sister-in-law Kari sent this shirt to Evee...it's pretty big still, but I couldn't resist! What can I say, she's already taking a stand for things that matter :).

Our friends came over this week...Here's Evee with Paxton & Maddie. Clint & I were in labor class with their parents. We had fun hanging out.

Evee standing in her crib! I put her up there, of course, but she stayed on her own...

Evee & her little friend Ben swaddled up next to each other - he was born about 3 months after Evee, so she's a bit more into him at this point than the other way around.

Family & Friends

Of course I was planning on putting pics of Evee with family as it happened, but it didn't happen...thanks, once again for your patience!

Here are some of the fun things over the last two months (in backwards order - from most recent to least)!

My mom, Evee, and I went to PA for my great grandma's birthday. Evee got to meet her great, great grandma which is pretty amazing! 100 years a part - bridging the gap from 1907 to 2007!
In the picture are the five generations (in relation to me) - Evee, me, my mom, grandpa, and great grandma.

This is my friend Michelle. She's been over-seas for the last year and this was her first time to meet Evee. She will leave again sometime next year so it is great to have her closer by for a little while!

My brother-in-law, Mike, and my sister Joni came and saw us for a bit - it was so great to see them and catch up!

This is Evee with my sister in law, Kari. This was her first time to see her little niece. She and my brother have been traveling the world. They both came back to the states a while after this picture was taken and Josh got to see Evee too (see below). It is good to have them back in the country (even though they live in CA).

Evee with her friend Maddie! We need to get a more recent photo, but this is the daughter of some friends of ours - the girls are already good friends (by choice of course :)).

Clint, Evee, and I went to Michigan over Labor Day weekend for some time away. It was great! We stayed at a condo by Lake Michigan.
Out on the pier with her dad...

A very fun pic of when my brother-in-law (Clint's brother), Dean was here. This is when we took him to the airport. We had a great time with here.

I wanted to add Julie because, even though she didn't "visit" us, she is here in Indy and we love that! She is so great to have around!

Anyway, just wanted to pass along the pics, but will write more about our lives next post!

Photography by Cook

Hey! We have some new pictures of Evee...I'm actually passing you on to another blog for them though! These are some pictures that our friend took who is just starting out doing photography on the side. You would not know it from the pictures though!

Anyway, please take a look. The blog is http://photocook.blogspot.com (he has other ones on there too if you'd like to check those out as well.

Overall, we are doing well. The summer schedule is slowing down to have more a fall routine which I'm excited about. I went back to work which has been interesting but good (just part time). On the downside we had to say good-bye to Dean, and on the plus side we said hello to my sister and brother-in-law (Mike and Joni) and to my friend Michelle who has been overseas for the last year. We also got to visit with my sister-in-law Kari for a few hours in Chicago - her and my brother have been traveling the world since February.

Anyway, I will write much more about that later and post pictures with all the new aunts and uncles that Evee has now seen. For now I just wanted to pass on the pics!

Camp and teething...

Well, last week we were at youth camp for church and next week I go back to work part time. In between that (and still happening) Evee is teething...it's been busy. Best of all, Clint's brother Dean came for a visit. He came the Thursday before camp and led worship throughout the camp! We got back this past Friday and Clint and Dean left for Denver, CO Saturday morning. I'll try to post some pictures of that when they get back. So, Julie and I have been hanging out a lot which has been great. My parents get in from Europe on Wednesday (same day as Clint and Dean get back) and will be around for a couple of days. Very exciting! Also very exciting and an important highlight was that our very good friend Renee had her second baby - Benjamen David!

Anyway, here are a few pictures that our friend Laura took... She is really good at it and has a fun camera.

This is a picture with Steve & Renee (who had the baby, but this is pre-baby).

The last few weeks...

Well, we're doing well and Evee is a GREAT baby.

The last few weeks have been filled with youth events, a wedding, seeing papa and grandma (Jacksons), and other little stuff.

Clint left this morning to go to Florida with 14 students and 2 other adults for a CM&A youth missions conference. Evee and I are going to be hanging out for the next 7 days! It should be good though. We'll help Julie (my sister) move in to her new place here in Indy and we'll get ready for Dean (Clint's brother) to come next week! Very exciting stuff!

Evee happenings over the last few weeks...

Tummy time

Shopping with me...

The girl loves to smile and is starting to jabber more and more

This was taken today. She just got her 2 month immunization shots yesterday and you can see the band-aid on her legs.
She's recovering well :)...
She now weighs 11 pounds 12 ounces and is 24 inches tall!
She is in the 90% for her height and the 50% for weight. Our doctor said that she is tall and thin now, so as long as the weight stays up he is good with that...she looks chunky to us :)!

Other than that we are doing great. The girl sleeps between 7-11 hours each night and sleeps through without waking up at all (averages about 8-9 hours)! We're loving it!
