Crocheted Slipper Socks

I posted about some slipper socks I made for Evee and and am making for guests...thought I'd pass that along the link because it has some cute pics of Evee, but didn't want to totally repost it here :). You can find that post at Baby Get Green.

I'm working to perfect the slipper sock for Evee - she keeps slipping on the non-carpeted floors of our apartment. Kind of funny, but kind of not :). I'm looking into how to put some kind of bottom "sole" on them or something. Either way, it's been fun crocheting again.

Update - I also posted some cute pictures of Evee in her sling today too.

Making Cookies

Last week (and about every week for that matter), we made Oatmeal Cookies. Evee has really been into helping in the kitchen. A few weeks ago I put a chair up so that she could see what was happening and "help". She's a true Jackson, though, and eats the cookie dough - as you can see :). How can you say no to that face?!

Additional Words

I wasn't sure if I should keep adding them on to the old post or create a new one...maybe just add them here from now on. I keep thinking of new words and people have been asking lately what words she's saying - plus, I remember random ones when I'm just going about our day.

I know I'm already forgetting some that I was thinking about earlier. I'll keep the list coming, recognizing that this is more for me to have memory of than anything else. I'm posting some pictures of where we are living too. I have some really cute pictures of the last couple of days that I'll post within the next week.

Current Words

I thought I'd try to keep track on here of what new words Evee is saying until there are too many to do (which will be a long time from now, I'm sure).

So far, the ones I can remember right now are

• Mmmm... (not technically a word, but something my mom taught her when she moved us out to NJ)

That's all I can currently think of...I'll write more as I remember them.

Clint is speaking this weekend at a college retreat in PA (from the speaking he does with Kingdom Building Ministries). So, we all get to go which should be fun. The first week of school has gone well for Clint - a LOT of reading. He will hopefully start a job at a church in the area in the next couple of weeks and my jobs are going well - serving 1-2 nights a week and dog walking/babysitting (with Evee along). I'll have to take some pics of that because it is pretty funny pushing a stroller and walking a dog and then the stuff that comes up while I babysit.

Jobs and randomness

We'vebeen in NJ for about a week and a half now. My mom left last Thursday and some friends moved in and stayed with us that night. So, it was helpful going from people to people. The other two families we know here are gone for a bit, so it was nice to have someone that we knew move in around the same time as us.

We're working on getting jobs. I've had quite the array of phone conversations, e-mails, and interviews. Some a bit random, but it's actually been a bit funner (and funnier) than I expected as far as applying for jobs go. So far, I will be working for a family part-time dog walking/watching their kids (like when they have half days or days off school). I can bring Evee, which definitely seals the deal. I'm also looking at serving or doing administrative work two nights a week at a counseling office. We'll see - my decisions should be made by tomorrow evening or Wednesday. Clint is looking into working for a church here in town.
